Nick Fiori is among an elite group of anti-money laundering (AML) compliance professionals working in the casino sector. With more than 29 years of casino experience, Fiori has worked in nearly every aspect of gaming. Currently, he holds the position of slots site manager at Gila River Resorts & Casinos―Wild Horse Pass. Fiori diligently works on the first line of defense, with years of second line of defense experience to back him. Most of his gaming career was spent on the front line, but when COVID-19 struck the world, he took on the role and responsibility of a suspicious activity report analyst within the regulatory compliance department. Fiori excelled, as he appreciated the policies and regulations of both the gaming and banking space. While in compliance, Fiori obtained his Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) designation, adding to his continued professional growth. He continued in compliance until the opportunity presented itself to spread the culture of compliance to the first-line team of slots. As the department head, Fiori utilizes every opportunity to teach, share and fully integrate his AML knowledge into the slots department.
Fiori has enjoyed many aspects of his career, but mostly the front-row seat to the expansion of Native American gaming, both within his state and on the Gila River Indian Reservation.
In addition to his work experience, Fiori earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Phoenix. When escaping the routine, Fiori plays the string bass. He is an avid musician, and one of his greatest moments is having played for the Scottsdale Symphony.
